WW1 Manchester Regiment

Postby Ladyhawk » Tue Apr 01, 2008 3:20 am

I am trying to find out a bit more about a great uncle of mine. His name was Lawrence Bunting born 1890 Bonsall Derbyshire. I know he was a member of the 16th Manchester regiment and was killed on 21 March 1918, I have read reports on that days fighting. I have looked on Ancestry to see if he was awarded any medals etc but find no mention of him. I also have looked in the local papers of Matlock for an obituary, there was nothing. His mother had moved from Bonsall to live with a daughter in Doncaster so that may be a reason there is no mention, however, his name is on the war memorial in Bonsall. Has anyone ideas of where I can find out any more information
