I'm not sure this is the answer but it may give an idea of an avenue to follow.
The query asked about a Great Aunt known as "Ginnie Hunter born approx 1896 in Walthamstow". Thought to be the daughter of George William Hunter b1869 & Mary Elizabeth Petts b1868. Eleven children are given with DoB from 1889-1907.
The 1911 census shows the family at 47 Clarence Ave, Walthamstow. It states the couple have been married 22 years and have had 12 children, 1 of whom has died.
Using FreeBMD all eleven children listed in the query can be found registered under West Ham births. Checking West Ham births from 1885-1911 I found no Ginnie or Virginia Hunter's born. There are three Jessie's, one Janet & a Daisy J Hunter in the timeframe. However these can all be excluded as they can be found with other families in 1901/1911 census returns.
So was Ginnie a blood relative? Checking marriages for the older Hunter siblings shows three living away from home. George Edward appears to be in the army with 2nd Duke of Wellington Regt. His sister Mary Eliza is with a younger brother, William James, and still single. (She was a housekeeper for a young widower who had small children and appears to have married him in 1919 - no children with similiar name to Ginnie).
However checking FreeBMD, in West Ham, for marriages between 1911 and 1920 shows Henry C Hunter marrying Jessie EE Fidgett Jun 1919 4a 457. Could this Jessie be Aunt Ginnie?
Checking back she was born Jessie Eliza Ellen1899 in Parkston, Essex so the age would be likely too.
