I'd like to find out a military background on my grandfather. He was in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He was in the world war 1 so he was in there around this time. He also earned a medal for fighting unsure what accolade it was. Please help.

Dear John, I suggest that your first port of call should be the "Long, Long Trail" website here: http://www.1914-1918.net

This is a treasure trove of information about WW1 and has very comprehensive guidance on how to research individual soldiers.

If his service record still exists, you should be able to track it down at the National Archives. Alternatively, if you have a subscription to eg Ancestry, you should be able to find it too.
