WW2 records

Postby warpo » Sun Nov 23, 2014 12:35 pm

Can anyone point me in the right direction please. Several of my ancestors were in the second world war, but regarding this war both FMP and Ancestry are very limited.

Is there a specific website that you can search individuals and that gives you more details on them.

I know there are the National Archives, but I can't get to London to search as and when I please.

Any help as usual is truely appreciated.

All such records are still held by the Ministry of Defence. See https://www.gov.uk/requests-for-persona ... ce-records but be warned access is limited unless soldiers can be shown to have died some years ago.
