Message when looking at Forum

Postby neergydna » Thu Nov 20, 2014 9:54 pm

When I go onto the forum I get the following message:

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /index.php on line 116: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'UTC' for 'GMT/0.0/no DST' instead

Any advice as to how to correct

Not your problem - the coders of the website need to take action. I wonder if the message is linked to a thread a few days ago that was no doubt only of interest to techies where different people were seeing different timestamps on forum messages - indeed I saw different timestamps for my own message depending on how the screen reached me.

Pleased that it's not only me seeing this at the top of the screen. Not on this one - but certainly on the general research queries forum.

Obviously a pretty general problem as it is at the top of my screen too and has been for several days!

I visit the forum primarily on my iPad and no gobble-de-gook on there. Yet I noticed in on my desktop iMac today?!? It's not been there in the past, curious.

Me too - only when I'm on my laptop, not when using the iPad app.

Hi folks,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to this. I've notified our 'techies' who will deal with the problem as soon as possible.

Best wishes,
Jon
