Postby luvbug43 » Fri Nov 14, 2014 12:30 am

I have 2 relatives on my father's side that died serving in the army that I would like information on. My surname is Love & they were my grand father's brothers.
Robert James b Mar 1880 & served with 1st Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders in Boer War - death unknown
Joe / Joseph - I have no birth or death info
If anyone can help me out, it would be nice

You may need to add locations for their births as there are a number of men with these names (and therefore medal roll information etc). I have found a family from Ireland on Ancestry with both Robert & Joseph, sons of Robert Love & Rachel Quail. Robert appears to have died c1918 but Joseph was in receipt of a pension post WWI.

The family appears to have 3/4 other men lost during WWI. One in 1919, having been gassed.
