WW2 Australian Uniform Ident Help Please

Postby Cucuboth » Sat Oct 11, 2014 5:56 am

I'm having trouble identifying the uniform my great-uncle is wearing in this photo. It's from WW2, and obviously looks like an officer, but I can't ID the rank. Plus, he doesn't appear to have any service record listed on the National Archives of Australia site. The family story is that he served as a Coast Watcher in the Solomon Islands, since he owned a plantation up there. Anyway, I'm mostly looking for a rank, and maybe if this is a regular army or militia uniform.

Thanks to anyone who might help,

Suggest you contact the Australian War Memorial and ask their assistance in identification.
