Walter Tull - World War I

Postby ksouthall » Mon Aug 11, 2014 8:39 pm

For anyone researching World War I ancestors, you may be interested in the following stories about two WWI soldiers:-

Walter Tull - served in the Footballers' Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment

and

Frederick "Clegg" Kelly - the Olympic rowing champion and one of the country's leading composers.

I heard the Walter Tull story on Radio 5 Live on Saturday. It was very moving and was really well told by Clarke Carlisle and the historian, John Cooksey.
