Latham Family in Clevedon

Postby herbiecat » Thu Mar 06, 2008 7:50 pm

I am trying to find more information on the Latham family who lived in Clevedon. I can go back as far as James Francis Latham who was born around 1828 in Wiveliscombe. I know he was a shoemaker in Clevedon and some of his children helped in the business, but I would like to learn more about them. I did contact the Clevedon Historic Society, but they hadn't studied this family in particulary. Please let me know anything you know. Thank you!![:)]

In 1841 a James Latham was a shoemakers apprentice (age rounded to 15) living in Dunster with his parents John and Elizabeth Latham, and siblings John (25), William (20), and Elizabeth (11), all born in Somerset.
James was baptised 6 Jun 1825 in Dunster and Elizabeth 8 Aug 1830. See

for further details, and maybe siblings baptisms and the marriage of his parents.
