STOKES, Halliford/Sunbury on Thames 1815

Postby agalligan » Sun Feb 02, 2014 7:15 am

I have a possible baptism for my ancestor Ann STOKES with a father William STOKES, soldier Halliford (parish Sunbury on Thames). Does anyone know how to find out what regiment might be in Halliford / Sunbury in November 1815? Any ideas. I think William is dead by 1823.

Do you know when he was born?. There are a number of possibilities on The National Archives website, e.g. WO 97 which should have his address and locations or the Waterloo Medal Rolls but it is otherwise very difficult. Any further information you have will help.
