Military photo from Stobs Camp (1916)

Postby Rowena » Sun Dec 29, 2013 7:44 pm

This post card was sent to someone (we don’t know who) by my great grandfather, Lachlan Macdonald, who was a Private with the 1st/4th Bn (Queen's Edinburgh Rifles), Royal Scots, when he died of his wounds on 11 November 1917 in Egypt. The writing on the back indicates that it was taken at/sent from Stobs Camp, Hawick, on 7 July 1916.

I am trying to determine whether my great grandfather is actually in the photo, or whether it was a generic one that soldiers would have sent to family and friends.

Does anyone else out there have the same post card/photo, or can you identify anyone in the photo?
