TNA closing early

Postby junkers » Mon Jan 20, 2020 8:28 pm

TNA are going to close at 5pm on 11 February instead of staying open until 7pm and will extend the opening hours for the next day. They say it is for a private event but surely TNA is for researchers and why could the private event not be moved to the Wednesday?.
It appears that the private event (i.e. one which the general public are not allowed!) was a speech by Sir John Major on the establishment of The National Archives Trust. This is not the first time TNA have had a private event, to the detriment of researchers.

Perhaps Tuesdays are the least busy day so they chose that date as it would have the least impact on researchers?
