Arthur Otto Dressler

Postby thecatsmother » Sat Nov 02, 2019 9:45 am

Is there a kind person that can look up the birth of Arthur Otto Karl Gustav Dressler b. Magdeburg Germany abt 1875? I have seen the birth on Ancestry. but cant access the image as not a 'World' member only UK. Arthur was marr to Elizabeth nee Hale b. England. They had a son b 1902, Nurnberg, Germany- Arthur Heinrich Herman Dressler. Trying to find Arthur Snr's parents or what specific date he was born. I have asked in a previous message abt Arthur & Elizabeth Dresslers marriage which I still havent found.

I suspect it is a birth certificate.

I can make out the word geboren, which is born. My German is very basic, and most of the handwriting I cannot read

As it is dated 1902, perhaps it is for the son mentioned in the original post as born in 1902.

See my topic

Yes, definitely a birth certificate. I need to squint further because of the Old German script but the line 'Zu Magdeburg in seinen Wohnung' means 'at Magdeburg in his dwelling'. A home birth.

Hi Nane I had used Ancestry & gone under Germany, births, & put in name Arthur Otto Dressler. I have only presumed he was b. abt 1875, wife was b.then. The details came up at that top of the page.
