Unnamed ship

Hi, I am just hoping that someone can give the name of this ship the photo was part of a collection of pictures that was my grandfathers he was in the R.N.A.S. from March 1918, any ideas will be welcome thanks.

Does the painting on the side count as dazzle camouflage? I don't know but I'm sure someone will

If you think this was during or just after WW1 I should post on the Great War Forum someone there will be able to point you in the right direction.

Is it the minesweeper trawler HMS Birch (T93)? Built in 1939 by Cook, Welton & Gemmill (Beverley, U.K.) There is a 1946 photo of the HMS Birch on ebay.ie and it looks very similar to your photo. Not sure if the ebay listing is out-of-date, though. I was able to access it.
