Occupation - Fancy Goods Shopkeeper

Postby Beverley Stephens » Sat Apr 13, 2019 7:10 am

On the 1901 & 1911 census my ancestor is a Fancy Goods Shopkeeper. Any idea what is sold in a Fancy Goods Shop? Thank you.

Fancy goods covers a huge range of products. Items which can be given as gifts: bric-a-brac: things for the garden: things for the home....possibly a store where you can buy anything you want.

Thank you Kay, the sort of shop my Mum would call an "Aladdin's cave".
