Findmypast new search interface

Postby Mick Loney » Sun Mar 03, 2019 12:51 pm

Findmypast has added a useful feature to their search engine, which I found extremely useful.

When searching for results in a particular locality, one can now specify a search radius.
e.g. searching for a baptism in Brewood, Staffordshire, one can now specify the search within 2-20 miles of Brewood.

I can see where it would be beneficial for common names, but in most cases I put as few details as possible when searching, then if too many returns are shown I add further details.
I find when trying to be too precise relevant names are missed too easily.

Having said that I congratulate Findmypast for adding the option.
Cheers
