The National Archives

I see that the local Council has approved a request by TNA to have a music and drink license up to 1130pm on certain days, even though residents are unhappy about the existing noise, think of Summer evenings!http://www.richmondandtwickenhamtimes.co.uk/news/16083668.National_Archives_in_Kew_gets_go_ahead_to_become_fully_licensed_venue/

I know that on certain days TNA will open for researchers until 9 pm, because workers can't (apparently) get to Kew during a closure at 7pm and last document orders at 4pm. This does seem odd given that TNA took years to get the local residents to accept TNA being there, I do wonder where this is going, seems to be losing track of being an archive, a national one at that, not least the cost of staff and security. The evening events are good, however the Suffragettes at £22 is pricey. I do have some sympathy with the local residents.
