Anyone out there related / or knows about ; William Smith ( b. 1874 Buxton ) , AFTER 1902 ?
He played football for Manchester City between 1897 & 1902 .
HELP ! cannot find him after he stopped playing ?
This is a team photo ( Golden Penny Magazine ) , he is ; B Smith on the picture. He was known as William " Buxton " Smith because another player in the team was also a William Smith , but he came from Stockport ....hence S Smith for William " Stockport " Smith .

What I know about football could be written on the head of a pin but wouldn't the club have an archivist? I would have thought it would be worth contacting the club. If they don't have an official archivist they may be able to put you in touch with a fan who knows something of the history of the club/its players etc.
