Crowder help

Postby Pebble » Thu Apr 02, 2009 5:26 am

I have a William CROWDER who according to '51 & '61 census was born in Ireland in abt 1811. No town was mentioned. His wife was Hannah Parker and their 1st child Harriet was born in Macclesfield, Cheshire in 1842. 3 other children, William, John and James were also born in Macclesfield. I can find no record of either a birth or marriage for Wm & Hannah. In the 1851 census in Macclesfield there were quite a few Crowders and most say they were born in Dublin. I had heard of somebody doing research in to the Crowder name in Dublin many years ago. Has anybody any suggestions as to where I can go. We've got back to the 1500's on several branches but on my main branch are stuck here!
