As Sylcec states the split postcard back only came into being after 1902. What narrows it down further is the phrase 'For inland and colonial communications only'. These postcards were only in use initially in the UK and then other countries gradually started to accept them from c1904, with postcards being printed accordingly - i.e. for communication in all foreign countries except ....

The first postcards of this type used phrases like 'For Inland communications only' and appear to be dated 1902 - 1904 so I would think your image comes from this timescale or very soon afterwards. As i understand it, by 1908 postcards could be sent anywhere and so no restrictions were printed on them, although the website linked below suggests 1907 ... osting.htm

Hi Elaine

The name in the image is Violet Conti. She was my grand aunt. After the information on here about styles of postcard and when this one would have been produced I believe the baby is my maternal grandmother and one of the young girls is Violet. Who the third person is, I have no idea, which is a shame.
