I'm looking forward to this one too, especially as my Dad was born in 1936 in the Valleys and into a mining family and community. It'll cover the era just right. Hopefully it'll not be placed in some obscure time slot!

Also noticed somewhere, cannot find the article just now or the title: but for those that enjoyed 'Tales of the Green Valley', there is going to be something similar set in the 19c. That will also be something else to look forward to.

Have just discovered The Coal House at War is on BBC 4 at 7:30 on Tuesday, in 9 half hour episodes. As I have an interest in this era I shall enjoy this series - I did manage to see the odd episode on bbciplayer when it was being shown in Wales however each time I logged on the episode I wanted to watch had gone - now I'm in my element. I can watch it now.
