Change in Forum appearance

Postby ColinB » Thu Nov 21, 2013 4:05 pm

I'm finding the new ' colourful ' forum a bit hard on the eyes - very bright and a bit dazzling , but I expect I shall get used to it. I'm a bit surprised that my browser , IE 9 , is being flagged up as out of date - it's hardly ancient !

Thanks for the comments, Colin. It's still very much in 'beta' phase, so we're still tweaking bits and pieces to see what works best!

I agree with Colin the new site is far too bright and dazzling , this is my first visit to the forum for some time and I thought I had somehow connected to the wrong site!

I fixed the irritating message about updating my browser. I used to view the website in compatibility mode. I switched that off and my browser is no longer flagged as out of date !

Welcome back Rita , by the way !

Hi
I like the slightly larger format but agree the colour scheme leaves a bit of a 'blurry eye' feeling after a few minutes.

Takes a bit of getting used to, but think I like it - has a much cleaner, less fussy appearance overall with text easier to read.

Thanks for all the comments, everyone - really helpful. Without being too biased, I do think that the new 'skin' makes posts a lot easier to read than before. The white background does seem a bit bright, but I'm getting used to it now.

Now that I've got used to the new look forum I agree that it is easier to read but I'm not sure the green line between each posting is necessary, any thoughts?

I don't mind the new layout, perhaps a bit too much blue but why were the subjects of the latest blogs removed from the front page rather than we have to go looking for the latest?.

I quie like the new style.
I don't like the green lines obscuring earlier posts when replying though. (:
For those who don't like the green lines have you tried the mobile alternative?
Just click the change to mobile link.
Cheers
