i am trying to trace info on my grandfather Robert John Meek. iknow he was born in 1898 in Bromley Street, Belfast to Alexander Meek and Maggie Jane (McCune) In1915 he joined the Tyneside Scottish Northumberland Fusiliers and fought on the Somme surviving as a despatch rider. I am desperately seeking info on Alexander Meek and more details of Robert's career in the great war.

Hi there,
About Robert Meek,
have you searched this website to see if he was issued with any medals?

Also another useful one is the Gazette newspaper

It has a Belfast gazette too.

You can search for free, and then it only costs money when you have found the record that you want, and you then pay and download it.
