Postby BucksFerret » Thu May 17, 2012 1:32 pm

Those with Bucks ancestors or connections may be interested to know that Buckinghamshire Family History Society will be holding its annual Open Day on Saturday 28th July 2012, between 10am and 4pm at The Grange School, Wendover Way, Aylesbury, HP21 7NH (south-east of the town, between the A413 and A41).

A big attraction for Buckinghamshire researchers is the Society's names database, which now contains in excess of five million entries :o including baptisms, marriages and burials - let us help you track down those elusive ancestors! There will be parish register transcripts and other publications for sale; a talk aimed at those new to family history will be given twice during the day; and lots of expert advice will be on hand. Guest societies from around the country will be attending, together with local heritage groups and numerous commercial suppliers of maps, books, software, data CDs, archival materials and other services.

Admission is free, with free parking available at the venue. From Aylesbury Bus Station, take
Arriva service 50 towards Wendover and RAF Halton as far as Chaucer Drive, about eight minutes walk. Tea and coffee will be available, but please bring a packed lunch.

Further information, including a full list of organizations attending, can be found at
