Settlement Orders

Mark Grant married Maria Wycherley in Liverpool in 1869, and died there in 1876. I haven't been able to find out anything about Mark pre-1869, although the 1871 L'Pool census says he was born 'London, Surrey' and his age on marriage suggests his birth year was 1845/6.

I've now found an entry in Liverpool Workhouse records, dated 1863: "Mark Grant, b 1845, Religion C, Settlement London." Was this just a statement of fact, or does ...

A date and country for this photo

I wouldn't normally ask, but we are missing records for one whole branch of the family and I am just wondering if this might possibly be a link (found in an old box of photos from one family member). Any ideas on date and country for this? Thanks in hope!

Why can't I find my Great Uncle

Can someone help.

I have problems researching my Great Uncle Joseph Beaver

He can be found in 1891 Census and Family Search has his baptism 24 April 1889, Linchmere, Sussex.

I cannot find his birth or death in any of the register indexes.

He is also cannot be found in 1901 or 1911 census - could he have gone abroad.

Regards

I am unable to find a marriage between an Elven and a Neal(e)/King.

The only likely candidate for the marriage of Frederick Elven is on 16 September 1899, when Fred Elven aged 25, bachelor, occupation Gentleman, married Margaret Wieland, a widow aged 28 by licence at Kensington Register Office. Fred gave his address ...
