Find my past free access

I've just had an email stating that access to FMP will be free from 1200 tomorrow, 8 November until 1200 Monday 11 November. It doesn't include newspapers or periodicals. The email doesn't say if this is worldwide or just for findmypast.co.uk

Sending your DNA and do you need to join ancestry

I have been bought as a present a DNA kit for ancestry. However I actually belong to find my past. Does anyone know if you have to join ancestry membership to be able to search for any DNA links etc on ancestry or is that a separate section?
Thanks

Rebecca ARCHER or ORCHARD

Rebecca was born in Whitchurch, Hampshire in 1795, being baptised on 15 Nov 1795. She then disappears from the records.

Having not found any early burial, I have tried searching both 1851 and 1861 for a Rebecca born in Whitchurch to try to identify a possible husband and marriage. One interesting result is a Rebecca born in 1791 in Whitchurch. She is living in Whitchurch in 1861 aged 70 married to a Samuel. Their surname ...

Change of Surname

My ancestors seem to have changed their name from Barfoot to Bennett. It suddenly appears to have changed by the time of the 1861 census. When I looked on Ancestry, underneath the name Robert Bennett is written in brackets Robert Barfoot. The names and ages seem right. Does anyone know if I can find a document somehow to prove change of surname please?

Angus & Roger Begg - sons of Kenneth & Isabel Begg

A slightly unuual request here but can anyone help?

Kenneth (b.1903) and Isabel Begg (nee Harries, b. 1911) were married almost certainly abroad although her family were from the UK - she was born in Staffordshire.

There are numerous passenger lists showning her entering and leaving the UK. Her death appears to have been in South Africa although as I don't have a world subsciption to Ancestry I can't actually look at the index.

The ...

The transcript from the Archives is separated into baptisms, burials and marriages but I would like to check events for 26 October 1789 as recorded in the original. There should be at least one marriage and two baptisms and ...

The MANCEYs of BASING

I am trying to track down the off-spring of John and Sarah MANCEY/MANSEY/MANSY, who lived in Old Basing in Hampshire.

William was born in 1802 and was baptised 12 Dec 1802. He then disappears, until a general labourer named William MANCEY dies in December 1865 in Totterdown, Basingstoke. Assuming this is the same person, where was he for the rest of his life? Did he marry?

James was born in 1814 and was baptised 04 ...

Inquest of death

Hello,
My x3 great grandfather Joseph Johnson (1841 - 1870) died as a young father in March 1870 in Aston near Bampton in Oxfordshire. On his death certificate it says a burst blood vessel as cause of death. He presumably died whilst working in the fields, his occupation was a shepherd. On his death certificate it also says there was an inquest to his death, I was wondering where I might be able to find ...
