Russell K Gosling - Immigration into the US

Russell Keith Gosling (b.1935, Gloucester) doesn't appear on the Findmypast emigration or passenger lists, but he is on Ancestry's immigration lists. Not having a sub to Ancestry, would somebody who has one be good enough to give me Russell's immigration details please.
From FamilySearch, he married Monica S Barnes c.1959 in the US and they had at least 5 children of their own and two adopted. Thanks in advance...

Wilby Rackham

Wilby Rackham was captain of the barque Alcaig which was lost with all hands in 1868.
We have been unable to find out many details about the ship or it's owners.
Also although the ship was registered in Liverpool the GRO informed me that there is no death certificate for Wilby.
Can anyone suggest why this might be as people dying at sea after 1837 on British ships should have their death registered ?

Passenger lists prior to 1878

My great grandfather, John Gordon Dunbar, travelled to USA (1871/1872), married in 1872 in Ohio, had 3 children (born 1873, 1874 and 1876). I know that the family then returned to England between 1876 and 1877 as his second child died in London in 1877 and his fourth child was born in London in 1878. How can I find details of when and how they travelled as incoming passenger lists seem to start in 1878.

Ancestry - edit box design change

I have noticed a recent design change in Ancestry edit boxes and I am experiencing the following problems as a consequence:

1. Very slow response when 'save' is selected.

2. Information edited in an 'edit marriage' box does not transpose to the other partner.

3. Lifestory places for exclusively UK based individuals include USA locations!

Has anyone noticed this change?

James & Mary Murphy - Liverpool 1905-1911?

Hello again, I was hoping someone might be able to help me find out what happened to my great-great-grandparents James Murphy and Mary Grimley. They lived in Cockspur Street in Liverpool from when they were married in 1864 to the 1901 census, and James is listed at that address until the 1904-1905 electoral roll. I cannot find a death record for either of them with any certainty. I have compared various death records with burial ...

Hop Sweepstakes Winnings? (Barden, Ticehurst, E. Sussex)

I found this newspaper reference to my ancestor's brother, Thomas Barden, who lived most of his adult life in Ticehurst, E. Sussex. He was born ca Sep 1801 in nearby Burwash.
The newspaper (Maidstone and South Eastern Gazette, 20 Aug 1850) reference is headed "Ticehurst" and it talks about the annual Hop Sweepstakes dinner being held in Ticehurst..."the chair being occupied by Mr. Thomas Smith who pronounced Mr. Thomas Barden the winner of the sweepstakes, ...
