Richard Baker - Bigamist or just playng away?

Richard Baker born 1861 Shalbourne, Berkshire (Wiltshire at some point). I have checked birth indexes 5 years either side so pretty sure there isn't another one.

1881 census - with his parents Arthur and Harriet in Shalbourne

1884 - Marries Eliza Wells in Ealing, Middlesex. He is 23 and she is 24

1891 Census - Richard and Eliza are at 10 Grosvenor Road, Ealing. He is 29, she is 30 born Ealing, Middlesex

George Singleton, b 1851

I've been trying for a long time to trace George, who was born in Fovant, Wiltshire in 1851.

His mother Anna died in 1865 and a few years later his father Henry left the area and eventually remarried (stating he was a bachelor) and lived in Cobham. The younger brothers were in the Wilton workhouse from around 1869 and the records show that the guardians were unable to trace Henry.

Unable to find any death record for May Jane McPherson born 1891 May Jane Hewitson. Last record for her in 1964 electoral roll living at Morley Avenue, London E.4. Husband Lenoard C McPherson passed away in 1972 Waltham Forest. Son registered birth so presume May had already passed away by this date. Tried many different spellings of surname. Also purchased wrong death cert for Mary McPherson died 1964 East Ham. Any help greatly appreciated.

Mystery of Great Uncle Andrew McShea

I am searching for any information about my Great Aunt and her husband.

Ethel Isabella Salmon (born 8 July 1895, Bures Hamlet, Essex) married Andrew Joseph McShea (aged 28, Sapper RE, a Professional Footballer) on 12 February 1918 at St Paul's Catholic Church, Station Road, Wood Green. Andrew Joseph's father was Andrew McShea (deceased) Farmer.

Ethel Isabella died 13 December 1974 at Little Cornard, Sudbury, Suffolk.

Marriage Certificate - Handwriting Struggle

I was wondering if anyone could help - I have ordered a marriage certificate and am struggling to make out the father of the grooms name, his surname is Thomas but can anyone help me make out what his Christian name is please? The family may have come over from Ireland.

What happen to John Grimes?

What happened to John Grimes born 1893 to Martin And Ellen Grimes in Leicester. He was on the 1901 census but not on the next one with his parents and siblings in 1911. Did he die or marry?

Walter Salter & Emily Lee

Hi All,

I'm at a brick wall here. I'm trying to find some information about a relative. The family story is that my 3x Great Grandfather, Walter Salter, born 1860 in Plymtree, Devon, had a wife who died tragically while carrying twins after walking out in front of a horse.
