Isaac Farndon

I have been trying to locate Isaac Farndon on the 1841 census using Family Search, but drawing a blank, so hoping someone else might be luckier and find him for me. He should be with his wife Hannah and children William, Harriet and John.
Isaac married Hannah Wakefield in the September Quarter of 1837.

Walter Frederick Hacon 1882-1968

I am continuing to research my Hacon family ancestors but currently having difficulty with Walter Frederick Hacon.
From his Royal Naval Reserve record I have a birthplace of Norwich, Norfolk, plus a birth date of 27th August 1882. In the First World War he served as Deck Hand DA6745, HMS Lavatera. He married Mary Ann Doyland in Grimsby in 1911 and died 1968 in Lincolnshire.
Even though I have a birthplace and birth date I ...

Help reading a death certificate

Got a couple of bits on this death cert that I'm struggling with and would appreciate some help. Thanks

First word in the cause of death column:
Dxxxxxxx - 6 hours
Asiatic Cholera - 12 hours

Place of death/residence of informant:
13 xxxxx Street. I thought it was February, but now I'm not sure.
(For what it's worth, in the 1851 census, she was living in Thomas Street)

Cause of death question

We learnt that my grandma had a child before she married, we ordered both the birth certificate and the death certificate and learnt the baby died after breathing for one minute.
It was a home birth in 1943, so a midwife wouldn't have been in intendence. The cause of death reads 'strangulation iquited of manslaughter'.
There's notes on the death certificate about an inquest with where the inquest took place and where.

My first question ...

Local Newspapers - Warwickshire

I have been searching various online newspapers for the report of an Inquest held in September, 1838, after the death of a young woman named Harriet LANGTON (aged 19) who lived with her maternal grandparents (William & Ann Langton) in the village of Austrey, Warwickshire.

She died on 22nd Sept 1838 after swallowing poison. From what I have so far established, she had been the victim of on-going abuse of some kind. I am unsure ...

London taxi cab drivers pre-1950s

Does anyone have experience researching the above? I've three generations and several ancestors who were London cabbies dating from around the 1950s and back into Victorian times when they drove Hanson cabs. I know they needed licences but I don't really know where to begin and my first efforts to find records has drawn blanks.

William Henry GILBERT

William Henry GILBERT was born in Tottenham on 02 June 1869, the son of James GILBERT and Harriet MARDELL. His father James was a house painter and/or decorator, who died young in 1873.

In the 1871 census, William (2) was living with his parents at Love Lane, Tottenham. And in the 1881 census, William (11) was still living with his parents at the nearby Union Row, Tottenham.

On 05 November 1889 he enlisted in the ...

Peter & James ANDERSON 1780 Tibbermore, Perth, Scotland

I attach an image of the parish register entry for the baptism of these twin boys on 12 Nov 1780
Can anyone suggest to what the second date 6 June 1782 might relate?
I had thought perhaps a death of one or both of them, but I can't see anything.

also, their mother's surname was recorded McLARNE (spelt like that) at the baptisms of all the children I have found as well as her marriage. ...
