Missing Harringtons

I have two missing births in the same family which have been puzzling me for a long time.

My 2x great-grandparents, Joseph (b 1832/33) and Christina Harrington (nee Smith b 1840) of Sible Hedingham were married in the village on 13 June 1856. The 1861 Census immediately threw up some confusion because it showed Joseph living next door to his parents-in-law, with a wife called Martha, aged 21 and a daughter Mary Ann aged 2 ...

Clarence Tomlinson 23/02/1897 - 06/1965

I am trying to locate any records pertaining to Clarence between the 1911 census (which I have) and 1920 (when he moved to Birmingham from Hanley). He was born in Hunslet, Leeds (Parents John and Emily (nee Wood) Tomlinson. In 1906 his father John died and his mother remarried in 1909 to Richard Obrey. Following the marriage all the children kept Tomlinson as their surname.
Clarence lived at 58 Church Street, Hunslet until 1909/1910 then ...

Missing marriage

I am missing the marriage of my rear grandparents THOMAS HILL born January 1874 in Camberwell London, (parents Joseph Hill and Eliza Charlotte Knight) with ANNIE JANE DAVIS born October 1875 in Upton on Severn (parents James Davis and Maria Clifford).
They had their first child Dolly in 1894. Thomas was living in All Saints Road Acton in 1891 but I cannot find Annie on that census.
Thank you

Thomas Halford - Isleworth (c1796-1867)

I'm struggling to find a birth record for my 4 x great-grandfather Thomas Halford, apparently born in Isleworth, Middlesex. From c1822 onwards, he and his family resided in Whitechapel and then St George in the East. Below are several details for him:

The 1851 and 1861 census reports list his birthplace as Isleworth.
His 16 May 1819 marriage to Ann Peatling indicates a witness named "Thos Halford Sen" who I presume was his father. Marriage ...

Looking for Elizabeth Tanner born 1845 mother

I am looking for Elizabeth Tanner born somewhere around Wokingham in 1845. Elizabeth married Charles Ballard in 1864. On the marriage information it has Robert Tanner as her dad. The only census I can find both a Robert and Elizabeth is 1851 and Robert is widowed.

Thomas and Sarah Tusler

Starting searching Tusler genealogy for my husband and would like to know if anyone has found information on the couple above (his grandparents). We have Thomas married Sarah in 1921 in Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, Scotland. We have also found that in 1925, Sarah Tusler was listed as widow, tenant-occupier for House 40 Townhead Burgh of Kilsyth. They had at least 2 sons that we know of, twins named Joseph(my husband's father) and Matt (possibly Matthew), born ...

Ann Wilkinson

My husband's 3xg grandfather was Thomas Henry Wilkinson. He was born in 1789 and married Ann Williams in 1810, in the Parish of St James, Westminster, London, England. He died in 1824 in Calcutta, India.

Their son Charles was born in 1812, and came to Australia in 1833.

I have been unable to find any trace of Ann after Thomas Henry's death, either as Ann Williams or Ann Wilkinson. Thomas Henry was a purser with ...

Font problem Family Tree Maker

I'm using FTM 2012 version, but I think the previous version was similar. Is there any way of adjusting the font size on the 'sources' screen when entering details of sources? It is a very small font and I'm finding it increasingly hard to read. I can adjust font size on other screens but there seems to be no way of doing it for sources.
Many thanks.

Related to the aristocracy?

I have come across a suggestion that I am related to the 5th Earl of Findlater and Seafield. I am slightly dubious, as I doubt that a full son of the family would be living on a croft near the family home in Cullen. However, I can believe that there might be a son born on the wrong side of the blanket. The son's name is George Ogilvie (1715-1795) and any number of people are ...
