Is it possible to search the electoral registers by address only without a name to find who lived there in the past?

Electoral Rolls

Can anyone tell me if in the early 1900's you had to provide proof of being of age to go on the electoral roll? There are a couple of people for whom I cannot trace a birth registration and I am wondering if records were kept if proof was needed.

Holsworth Dyke

My Grandfather, George Robert Holsworth Dyke born 1886 in Holwell, Dorset and his elder sister Emma Sadler Holsworth Dyke born 1885 in Shepton Mallet, Somerset were the eldest children of George Robert and Frances Emma Dyke nee Sadler. Family legend says that they were given the name Holsworth because there was 'money involved' but the rest of the children were not given this name. Finnish relative died at sea

My great great grandmother married a Finnish sailor in 1916 called Julius Ponni. He died a year later at sea. He was born in 1889 and his father's name was Hermann Ponni. Does anyone have any idea how to trace him back to Finland or find anything about him? I'm curious to see if any of his family (descendants) are alive.

Tracing an old bank.

Hello everyone.

This is my first post so I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me track down an old bank.

Several branches of the existing Heninghem family know a story of a family owned (or run?) bank which I am very keen to track down for all of us. I suspect this bank could have been in the High Wycombe / Reading area or possibly further North, in the Midlands. I am ...

William Harris - Wales William Harris - Wales

I'm trying to locate the birthplace and family of William Harris. Here's what I know.

His death certificate says he was born in Pasthumdras, Wales. No such place exists and I've tried to guess what he might have been saying - I understand he had a very thick accent. His birth date is given as Sept. 26 1852.

Parents - not sure but may have been Thomas Harris and Mary Ann Phillips - have been ...
