Do I have the same Ethel Louisa Christeen Horsham throughout

I would be very grateful if someone could cast an eye over my research to see if I have the same Ethel Horsham throughout. Until last month I merely knew her as 'Mrs Wilde' on my grandmother's admission notes to a children's home so I'm quite frankly amazed at how much I have found. Many thanks and much if the credit to this forum and another on FB whose members have unearthed little snippets for ...

Family group baptisms 1800s

Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I haven't been able to find a post.

Does anyone know why a family might have waited several years before baptising all their children in one batch on one day? I know there were taxes applied to parish registers at one point, would this have been a cost cutting measure? Or would it signify that the family wasn't really that religious? Or something else?

The family ...

Where did John Rothery marry?

John Rothery married Florence Elizabeth Hyomes/Hymes on 26 November 1898.

From the Parish Register entry, it took place in Parish Church, Horbury Bridge, Yorkshire.

The problem is that FindmyPast, in their England Marriages 1538-1973 Transcription, shows the marriage took place in Meltham-Mills! (Same date, same couple)

Meltham itself is about 15-20 mile from Horbury Bridge, so is Meltham Mills a different place?

Can someone with local knowledge of area help me out.
