Forum search?

Hi everyone. I've just joined the forums, but am a long time researcher.

Is there a function on the app to search for names, locations, keywords etc within the various posts? I can't see one and was going to log it as a suggestion to WDYTYA as it seems a major oversight to me, but wanted to check first I wasn't missing a menu option somewhere.

It seems odd to me that you can't search ...

Edwin Freel

Hi,

I am searching for details of Edwin Freel (possibly spelt Friel) who was born between 1920 & 1926, mothers maiden name was Savage. Possibly born around the Hammersmith area.

As a child he was placed into a home, as according to family stories he was in Leg Iron’s possibly due to Polio.

I have been unable to find any birth certificates, etc.

Many Thanks

Paul

Henry Peter LANGDALE, a total cad, goes missing!

On one of my mother's lines, I found the following sorry individual:

Henry Peter LANGDALE was born in Charles Street, St Margaret's, Westminster in early 1843, and Christened in St Margaret's on 19 March. His father was Henry Nichols (also rendered as Nicholas) LANGDALE of York, his mother was Sarah Frances MATHEWS of Westminster. Henry Nichols, an Attorney's Clerk, died when Henry Peter was barely 2, and his mother remarried John RAWLING in 1849.

RAWLING ...

Roman Catholic records

Hi everyone, I have had a few minor brick walls in my family tree for some time now and I know from the 1841 and 1851 census records that my 4th great grandfather, Isaac Seggins, was a Catholic schoolmaster and his father, also Isaac was a schoolmaster too.
Isaac Jr married in London in 1816 to Eleanor Dimmock and they lived in Weston Underwood, Bucks, I get the feeling that the records for this parish ...

Freeland & McDonald

Struggling to find my great grandparents:
Thomas Ross Freeland 17/11/1910 - 1993
Elizabeth McDonald 1912 -

They started out in Scotland, I think Falkirk, and ended up in Huddersfield.

4 children:
Henry, Elizabeth, Thomas and John

I use ancestry, I've found no records for Elizabeth, and have just found a death index for Thomas. Any help would be appreciated.
Can't get them on the 1939 register without paying £15, which I will only do as ...

Another brick wall.

I am trying to find my great-grandfather on my mother's side. The name I have is Louis Philip DuFresne, born around February of 1864 in New York state, possibly the Clintonville area of northern New York. Married to Elizabeth Flynn from Wisconsin, then to an Elvie Thompson (my great-grandmother).
I have only Elvie Thompson's name and nothing else.

I would like any insight on this.

Placename help

Hi
(a) Could anyone decypher the place name associated with Benjamin Deane (something) Farm in the county of Berkshire?
(b) The placename is obviously not a parish name, which seems unusual in my limited experience. Should I read anything into the absence of a parish?
(c) Could I expect the illegible farm name be the place of Benjamin's birth or where he is currently living?

Thanks in advance from a beginner.
